REGISTRATION WILL OPEN JUNE 15th FOR THE 2025-26 FALL / WINTER SEASON.

Season Details

  • The basketball season runs from the last week of September to early March.
  • Practices are held in a Southeast Edmonton school gym on week nights between 6pm and 10pm.
    • All teams will be assigned one 1-1.5 hour practice per week.
    • Practices are assigned once teams are made and coaches are assigned in mid September. We will NOT know any earlier what day of the week your child practices.
    • Extra gym time may be assigned to teams playing in the competitive divisions depending on availability.
    • Please note that occasionally practices will be cancelled due to school events, such as holiday concerts or custodian illness.  If we are notified of the cancellation early enough and extra gym time is available, we can try and assign a replacement gym.
    • If a player is unable to attend a game or practice, please remember to let your coach know as soon as possible to help them plan accordingly.
  • Please be aware of our gym etiquette rules and our fair play code.

7U & 9U Division

  • 7U & 9U program runs for 18 sessions starting the last week of September and runs through to March depending on the availability of the school gym used for the program.
  • Sessions are held on Saturday mornings for 1 hour, starting at 9 am - 10 am for 7U’s, 10 am to 11 am or 11 am to 12 noon for 9U’s at the Westboro Elementary School in Sherwood Park.  You can request which time slot you prefer in your registration and we will do our best to accommodate, however, all requests can not be guaranteed.
  • There are no regular games at this level - the focus is on skill development and fun.
  • The first half of the program will be spent on skill development, and then progress to game type experience in the second half of the program in preparation for the year end tournament.
  • There is a tournament at the end of the season in the middle of March that is run by Edmonton Youth Basketball Association (“EYBA”).

Community Division: 11U - 18U

  • All players are eligible to play in the community program and will be placed on a team after attending the MANDATORY Pre-Season Evaluations that take place in September.
  • Teams typically play 1 game per week and they typically start the first week of October and finish up with playoff games at the end of February / early March.  For teams that qualify for Provincials, they take place in the middle of March.
    • Games are played at the Saville Center, Legacy Athletics Centre, the EYBA Center, and school gyms in Edmonton and the surrounding area.
    • Community division games are generally played on Saturdays (occasionally Friday evenings or Sunday morning).
    • Teams will be re-seeded by EYBA at the end of each round during the seasons league play.

18U Program

18U Boys Division is broken up into 2 seasons (Fall and Winter), as players may not play for a community league team during winter season, and their high school senior basketball team at the same time.

When registering you will be asked to pay for the full season (Fall & Winter).  If you make your high school’s senior team, please email ed@southeastbasketball.com to let us know and we will refund $150 of the registration fee to the credit card used at registration.  The deadline to request this refund is December 15, 2025.

18U Girls Division are also ineligible to play on both a community team and their high school senior team at the same time so their season only runs for the Fall Season and ends before Christmas.

Competitive Division (Tier 1, 2 & 3): 13U and 15U only

  • Mandatory Player Evaluations are held the first week of September to create our competitive teams
  • You must register in RAMP to attend the Tier 1, 2 & 3 Evaluation on September 2, 2025
  • All players will also attend the regular evaluation time for their age division.
  • Teams are created based on player ability. The competitive teams will only be created if there are enough players registered in the program and showcase the appropriate skill level during evaluations.
  • Teams can be moved from competitive level to community level, or vice versa based on their performance (during EYBA re-seeding rounds).
  • Games are scheduled at the Saville Center, Legacy Athletics, the EYBA Center, and school gyms in Edmonton and the surrounding area.
  • Competitive division games are played on Wednesday nights (Girls program) and Tuesday nights (Boys program).
  • Regular season games will be followed by play-offs in March.
  • All Tier 1, 2 & 3 teams will participate in the Seeding Tournament that takes place on September 12 & 13th.
