1.0            CALL TO ORDER

Meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m.

2.0            APPROVAL OF AGENDA

-          there were no additions to the agenda

3.0   APPROVAL OF MINUTES

-          minutes of Jan. 12th, 2006 were reviewed

4.0            FINANCIAL REPORT – Pat Der

-          circulated the proposed budget for upcoming year (will be presented at Annual General Meeting)

-          income statement (see attached)

5.0            EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S REPORT – Tammy Schatull

-          registration went very well

-          divisions are based on experience

-          to date there are 34 teams

-          all coaches received a binder with information they need for the upcoming season

-          all teams have gym times (coaches should check web-site for extra time)

-          e-mails were sent to all coaches regarding Oct. 1/06 meeting (everyone needs to attend)

-          Annual General Meeting is November 12^th at Woodvale Hall

-          EYBA casino upcoming

-          need 2 volunteers to work (should come from players’ parents)

-          put on web site advertising positions

-          discount for multiple family members will be discussed at next meeting  (something to think about for next year)

-          need to put together an appeal or support board (this would take care of issues or concerns directed towards Exec. Dir.)

6.0            CATEGORY UPTDATES

A Division Tryouts – Wayne Anderson

-          great turnout

-          3 days for tryouts instead of two for next year

-          do try-outs after registration

-          try and get extra gym time for these teams

-          $20 extra for player (teams will pay their own way)

7.0            FUND RAISING – Tom Griffin

-          discussed contacting different companies (they are going to ask what am I going to get?)

-          could have their name (and logo) put on website

-          can’t issue tax receipts

-          hit up companies like Gibson etc. (in the neighborhood)

-          Paul will do up a sample fundraising letter

-          have a pub night (possibly have all 34 teams donate a basket for a silent auction)

-          plan for mid-Feb.

8.0            NEWSLETTER – Bik Grewal

-          working on one right now

-          suggestion that all directors email one item  stating the advantage of forming this organization

-          newsletter will be posted on website

9.0            COACHE’S VIDEO – Bic Grewal

-          a good set of videos – 7 DVDs (U.S. - $179)

-          excellent offense and defense drills

-          Paul will order one set to be shared by all coaches

10.0       SOCIETY ANNUAL RETURN  

-          to be filed after Annual General Meeting

-          Pat Der and Nicole Wadson will take care of this

11.0  DIRECTOR’S ROLE DESCRIPTION

-          something needs to be written up (should be put on website)

-          Tammy will put something together (each Director will e-mail some thoughts)

-          Tammy will email all Directors and they will have the opportunity to make any changes

12.0  EXECUTIVE POSITIONS RECRUITMENT

-          propose to have two positions filled by AGM in November

-          too difficult to fill all positions at once

-          need to keep getting fresh blood into society

-          Tammy will inform coaches then they can pass on info to parents
